Androgyny: New Work by Sergei Isupov
October 3 - December 6, 2009 Free AdmissionSergei Isupov is renowned for his technically accomplished ceramic sculpture, whose complexly illustrated surfaces often depict figures and settings painted realistically but with a dreamlike strangeness. This exhibition features Isupov’s latest body of work, including fourteen large-scale ceramics heads and related drawings. Each subject has the particularity of portraiture, where individual facial expressions subtly reveal character traits, here made complicated by the addition of surreal vignettes.
