Daum Museum Acquisitions Collection

The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art will be presenting their most recent acquisitions on Saturday, June 22. During the past few months the museum has had the extreme pleasure of gaining some incredible pieces for the museum’s collection. This collection of works consists of large-scale painting, including a 20ft. painting by St. Louis artist Fred Nelson, a 13ft painting by Kansas City artist Warren Rosser, and an 11ft. painting by a national recognized southwest painter Jim Waid. Other paintings will include the works of such artists as Karen Nease of Kansas City. Sculptural work will include Marcie Miller Grosse of Kansas City, Tony Marsh of Los Angeles and Richard Devore of Boulder, Colorado. The new collection also includes mixed-media works of Patrick Clancy and Larry Brown of New York. Central Missouri artists include William Hawk of Columbia, Keith Ekstam of Springfield, and Paul Allen of Sedalia. The overall collection that will be exhibited includes 29 new acquisitions. Also on exhibition in other galleries of the museum will be a series of 18 master prints which surveys the last 30 years of print making, all of which is part of the museum’s permanent collection. The most significant works from the permanent collection will also be on display in the permanent collection gallery of the museum. These acquisitions reflect the museums mission to focus on regional artists as well as recognized artists nationally and internationally.
