Awakenings
September 28, 2002 - January 12, 2003 Free AdmissionA series of seven site specific multi-media installations by Anne Lindberg, Mariá José de la Macorra, Cork Marcheschi, Judi Ross, Frank Sander, Peter Sarkisian, and Jim Woodfill. World premier of “Manifold” by Peter Sarkisian commissioned by Rodney & Rebecca Hartman and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art.
Awakenings is an installation based exhibit that displays seven different artists each in their own gallery space, this then allowing each artist to give his or her own vivid expression to the area. Awakenings will be an exhibit that is grand, intense, and interactive. It is yet another way in which the Daum Museum sets itself apart from other museums by dedicating all spaces to the concept of the installation. The exhibiting artists include Anne Lindberg, Maria Jose’ de la Macorra, Cork Marcheschi, Judi Ross, Frank Sander, Peter Sarkisian, and Jim Woodfill. Each artist has been recognized as transforming an ideology to the flesh, which then is part of an interactive space that transfers the viewer into a different world.
